A Word from the Well - 12/20/08

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

To us a child is born - to us a Son is given.  God gave us His very best.  “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all-how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”(Rom.8:32).  God graciously gives us all good things.  Every good and perfect gift is from above.

God sent His Son into a dark and hopeless world. And because He did - we never have to live without hope.  He kept His promises then, and He is still keeping His promises today.

Jesus is the Light of the world.  He is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.   If God didn’t withhold His very best then - we can rest secure in His ongoing goodness and grace throughout our lives and into eternity.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Heb.6:19).  If that’s not worth celebrating, I don’t know what is!
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!  Amen!!

Upcoming Trips - 12/08

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I will be posting the latest on WATW international trips in this category.

We are tentatively planning to take a prayer team to Thailand and, possibly, Vietnam in the Spring of ‘09, but the details have been slow in coming together - so stay tuned.  As soon as I am able to confirm one way or the other whether or not the trip is on - I will post it here!

Where Oh Where Am I?

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Here.  I think.  Been too busy to tell for sure.  Yes, I have been negligent and my “weekly” words from the well have barely made it out monthly.  December is still up for grabs…although it has technically already been a month since I posted the last entry, I am still hoping to get one out this month!

Life is just busy right now.  Not bad, just busy.  Adding a (nearly) full time job  on top of what I was already doing has made it necessary to make some ”adjustments” in my schedule.  The good news is that I am getting into a grove and figuring out what I can and can’t do.  Had lots of little trips out of town last month that made things even more interesting and now, of course, it is almost Christmas which keeps just about everyone hopping.  And, just because I like to keep things exciting, I’m going to spice things up just a bit more in the New Year by moving at the end of January!  Well, at least I don’t get bored.

So…that’s where I am.  Fortunately Jesus still has my address (I have it on good authority that He’ll have my new address when I move, too :-) ).  And for that, I am glad.

I realize this isn’t a very exciting entry after not posting for so long…but it is what it is! I am going to really try to get the website updated and get out a proper update before the end of the year, but no promises!  But whether I get things caught up or not, from my heart, I wish each of you all the joy and peace He came to bring this Christmas season…and I also wish you a few quiet moments to enjoy it!   (As for me, I’m off to look for a few of those myself right now… :-) )
